As products of the Hippie liberal ideology that gives them refuge in our high schools and universities, the boom car stereo thugs will argue about their First Amendment rights and how freedom of expression made America great. But what about our community's long-standing noise ordinances protecting the general welfare. People cannot sleep at night and are being humiliated when they encounter one of these boom cars at a traffic light or in a parking lot. This phenomena is not analogous to Elvis Presley shaking his hips on TV or Black Sabbath being played on the radio. The Hippie mantra that appeased us was "Hey, if you don't like Elvis or Black Sabbath, just change the channel", but now 40 years later low-frequency boom hate speech is being imposed on us against our will.

Go to YouTube.com and search for "boom car stereo" and witness first-hand how desensitized the youth of today are becoming. Can we expect the boom car stereo industry to anytime soon be in the mood to regulate itself?
